Syntax
Description
The
type attribute lets the author define the MIME type of the data used in the
object—the file that’s specified in the data attribute. This is slightly different from the codetype attribute, which is used to specify the MIME type
of the object itself. If the server sends data with the appropriate MIME
type, this attribute may be omitted.
Example
This type
attribute is set to "image/gif" to display a
.gif image:
<object data="logo.gif" type="image/gif"></object>
Value
This attribute takes a MIME type in
the format type/subtype, for example, "text/html",
"image/x-rgb", or
"application/java".
