Syntax

codetype="MIME type"

Description

The codetype attribute defines the MIME type of the embedded object, as specified in the data attribute. This shouldn’t be confused with the type attribute, which is used to specify the MIME type of data that the object consumes.

Example

This codetype attribute identifies an embedded Word document:

<object data="Hello.doc" codetype="application/msword"></object>

Value

This attribute takes as its value a MIME type in the format type/subtype; for example, "text/html", "image/x-rgb", or "application/java".
