Syntax
Description
The noembed
element is used to provide alternative content for browsers that don’t
support the embed
element. It’s not defined by any standard (it was introduced by early
Netscape browsers), and as such there aren’t any guidelines as to what it
may or may not contain.
Example
This noembed
element provides an alternative for video content:
<noembed> <img src="/images/inflate.jpg" alt="Inflate the tyre by holding the pump at 90 degree angle to the valve"> <p>You can inflate the tyre by holding the pump at 90 degree angle to the valve, as shown in the image above.</p> </noembed>
Use This for…
This element is used to
provide alternatives for media files contained in
embed. For example, you might use it to provide a
combination of images (img) and descriptions in
paragraphs (p), or list
items (li) in place of an
animated version of the content contained in a movie
file.

Despite being a
non-standard element, embed is well supported in the
browsers tested; no browser displayed the contents between the opening
<noembed> and closing </noembed>
tags.
