marginwidth (HTML attribute)
Example
The iframe
content has a 10 pixel margin applied to the sides:
<iframe src="iframe-content.html" height="200" width="200" frameborder="1" marginheight="20" marginwidth="20"> <p>Your browser does not support iframes. That kinda sucks, eh?</p> </iframe>
Description
This is a very rudimentary styling attribute that allows you to specify a width in pixels between the content and the sides of the frame. Note that you cannot set a different value for the left and right sides.
Value
Width in pixels.
Compatibility
| IE | 5.5 | Full |
|---|---|---|
| 6.0 | Full | |
| 7.0 | Full | |
| Firefox | 1.0 | Full |
| 1.5 | Full | |
| 2.0 | Full | |
| Safari | 1.3 | Full |
| 2.0 | Full | |
| 3.0 | Full | |
| Opera | 9.2 | Full |
Every browser listed supports this attribute.
Applying a marginwidth
is not the best way to set styles like this - you are better off using
Cascading Style Sheets to define how pages should look within a
iframe (you also have the benefit of being able to set
different values for a document’s left and right sides in
CSS).
