Common Attributes

In this section, you’ll find all the attributes that may be applied to all the HTML elements (unless otherwise stated). These include the core attributes that may be used for the purposes of styling elements with CSS or scripting to specify changes in the language, using lang; provide extra information about the element, which may appear as a tooltip, using title; and identify elements uniquely, using id, or many times over, using the class attribute.

In addition to these core attributes, we include event attributes that are used to identify the points at which certain actions take place, such as the instant when a user mouses over an element or presses a key. In addition to the W3C-defined event attributes, a raft of Internet Explorer-specific attributes have been defined.
